    Ciao Onofri Paolo
Mi è piaciuto il tuo articolo. Mio zio era in polacco 4 Reggimento Corazzato e vissuto a Potenza Picena.

    Cordiali saluti

      Thank you for your enquiry.

As far as your uncle MICHAL KRZYWOSZANSKI is concerned, a mechanic belonging to the tank regiment PULK 4 PANCERNY, he soldiered under the 3rd Squadron with the rank of PLUT and was decorated with a medal of Honour (KZ KRZYZ ZASLUGI Z MIECZAMI). He was amongst others stationed in Potenza Picena but I’m not able to identify the family. The local archives have a list of the families who hosted Polish troops but the names of these are never mentioned, only the number of officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers. I asked further information from a local lady who married a Polish soldier but she did not recall your uncle’s name.
The only photographs that I managed to find testifying the presence of Polish troops in Potenza Picena are those published in my blog. I shall send you more that I have in the meantime found. You might spot your uncle amongst these soldiers. This is the most that I can do to help for now, it’s very little, I’m sorry.
However should you have photos of your uncle taken while in Potenza Picena or in Italy, please feel free to send them, I shall publish them in my blog if you wish.
Furthermore please find enclosed a document taken from a pictorial history regarding the PULK 4 PANCERNY printed in 1975 in London where your uncle is indicated.
In case of further need please consider me at your entire disposal.

P,S. The friend who translates for me into English is a son of a Pole now living in Potenza Picena whose father fought under Gen. Anders but was stationed in Civitanova Marche (just eight km. south from Potenza Picena along the coast).
